BPF Net Zero Pledge

Commit, Connect, Collaborate

The BPF Net Zero Pledge is a commitment to work towards a net zero carbon property sector by 2050 at the very latest.

Members who take the pledge sign up to the following:

  • Commit

Signatories must make a meaningful commitment to be net-zero carbon by 2050 at the very latest.

  • Connect

Signatories must agree to be an active member of the Pledge community and engage with other Pledge signatories and the wider membership.

  • Collaborate

Signatories must agree to co-operate and collaborate with others across the sector and share insights and experiences.

BPF Net Zero Pledge Basics

Why you should take the pledge

We'd love all those who take the pledge to contribute to our Net Zero Insights series, which showcases what efforts to reduce carbon are being made across organisations, sectors and the industry as a whole.

However, we want to encourage 'radical collaboration' across the sector and foster a culture of cooperation to deliver joint initiatives and deliver on our climate change commitments.

We recognise there are legal limits on what can be shared, but we are asking all members who take the pledge to share knowledge, research, insights and information on an open-source basis as far as is practicable.

The sharing of resources and research is something we're uniquely placed to provide between its members. Without this collaboration, we won’t find the radical solutions we need!

Connecting with others

Signing the pledge offers many ways to connect and engage with your peers, through in-person and online events, by joining relevant committees and working groups, and by supporting our research and thought-leadership. We'll share opportunities to engage on a regular basis.

You can also check out our current events from across the SPF and BPF here.
