About the SPF

Our work is guided by the work of our committees as well as through our extensive member and stakeholder engagement. Because of our diverse membership, we're uniquely able to draw on the expertise and insight from across the industry to speak with one clear voice.

Counted in the SPF membership are investors, banks, developers, agents, lawyers and advisors, who specialise in sectors including residential, offices, retail, logistics, healthcare, life sciences, data centres and more.

We work with a range of stakeholders to help create the right policy and regulatory environment for the sector to grow and help Scotland meet its challenges, such as economic growth, housing availability, the race to net zero, and rejuvenating our town centres and high streets.

With nearly 20 years of experience, the SPF has built a reputation for being a critical friend to both local and national governments, as well as to other key business stakeholders.

In addition to our advocacy work, the SPF plays a vital role in helping to share best practice, policy changes and other important information within the real estate industry.

We do this though our regular member communications including our newsletters and drop-in sessions. SPF members have access to over 120 events every year - including conferences, seminars, receptions and roundtables. As part of the Real Estate:UK Group, we also run a busy programme at key industry events such as MIPIM, UKREiiF and Housing.

We pride ourselves on our ability to bring people together from across the industry, to help members build new connections and share ideas. Whether it be one of our specific interest groups, such as our Heat Network Network, or a informal reception for the launch of a report, we offer lots of opportunities to meet new people and collaborate.

We also have a development network, RE:Futures, that is open to anyone with 15 or fewer years' experience in the property industry.
