We are delighted to announce that our Annual Dinner will be returning on the evening of Thursday, 12 October 2023 at the prestigious Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

Members and guests can be assured of an excellent evening of great food, informed discussion and networking. You can register via the 'book now' option on this page at our 'early bird rate' with tables of 8, 10 or 12 available. The order of proceedings are as follows:

6.00pm: Pre-dinner drinks

7.00pm: Dinner

9pm: After dinner address

10pm till late: Late bar

Baroness Ruth Davidson

After Dinner Speaker

This year, we will be joined by Baroness Ruth Davidson, who started off her career as a BBC journalist then moved into Scottish politics. Ruth served as Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party from 2011 to 2019 and led the Conservatives in the Holyrood Parliament until 2021. She stood down from Holyrood at the 2021 election and has since entered the House of Lords as Baroness Davidson of Lundin Links. Currently, she hosts the Friday afternoon show at the Times Radio.


Mark Allan

BPF Chair & CEO, Landsec

Mark joined Landsec as Chief Executive Officer in April 2020. He brings extensive knowledge and experience of the property sector combined with strong operational leadership and financial and strategic management skills to the Board.

Prior to joining Landsec, Mark was Chief Executive of St. Modwen Properties Plc. Prior to that he was Chief Executive of The Unite Group since 2006. He moved to Unite in 1999 from KPMG and held a number of financial and commercial roles in the business, including Chief Financial Officer from 2003 to 2006.

Mark is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

 


Maria Francké

SPF Chair & Director at Maria Francké Planning

Maria is a chartered town planner and Director of Maria Francké Planning
Ltd. She has over 30 years’ experience and has been Head of Planning
in Scotland for Drivers Jonas, Deloitte and Cushman & Wakefield. Maria
provides planning advice to public and private sector bodies, developers,
investors and landowners on the development potential of land and
buildings.


Her sector experience includes large scale regeneration, renewables,
housing, retail, culture and leisure, industrial and offices. This
includes strategic pre-application advice, stakeholder consultation
and coordinating large teams on complex projects often requiring
Environmental Impact Assessments.


Maria is Chair of the SPF and also of the SPF’s Planning and
Development Committee. Maria is also on the Scottish Board of the
Association of Women in Property
